This refers to surgery which is provided as an adjunct to orthodontic treatment (eg with braces).
This commonly involves simple removal of teeth to provide enough space to correct crowded teeth, removal of impacted teeth or the surgical exposure of unerupted teeth.
It may also involve corrective jaw surgery where surgery is carried out to reposition the jaw bone to improve the bite and appearance.
